Is your rabbit a happy bunny?

Rabbits deserve and love lots of space and exercise. I have found my bunnies are happier running around with lots of protected spaces both inside and outside. I converted the shed to be their giant hutch, making lots of little wooden spaces for them to hide, have space from each other and can be filled with extra cozy straw in the colder months. I cut a space the size of a cat flap so they can go to the outside sheltered and protected pen. As ever, as soon as I get home I let them out into the main garden in which they have digging pits and bunny tunnels and plenty of fresh grass.
Chew Chew Chew!!! Having a house rabbit is definitely an amazing experience but I had to ensure there wasn't a wire left on the floor for her to chew. Rabbits teeth grow constantly like horses and need to be filed down if they overgrow. Unlike horses, rabbits have to be put under to have their teeth done. I am lucky this has happened to mine so far but I always ensure they have plenty of fresh hay, if the grass is low in the garden, I pick fresh grass from areas where I know the weed killers are not present. I also leave lots of safe branches for them to chew.
